Obituary of Chan Khoun

Mrs. Chan Khoun, 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital, Utica with her loving family at her side.

     Chan was born on August 9, 1962, in Battombong, Cambodia the daughter of the late Khoun Bou and Moeun Sang.  She was raised and educated in Cambodia until she was 17 years of age then she came to the United States.  She was employed as an assembler in a jewelry factory.  She was united in marriage to her lifelong companion Ruonh Nhy after moving to Utica in 2005.  Chan loved fishing and growing vegetables in the garden.

     Chan is survived by her husband of 18 years Ruonh Nhy, daughters Sokhoeun and Chanan Khoun, Nahry Ruonh, son Savanan Khoun, her siblings hNim Khoun, Sao Khoun, Pol Khun, Han Khoun, half siblings Khoeun khoun, kuan khoun, Kan bou five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents and her infant sister                                .

     Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 12-1PM at Heintz Funeral Services, Inc, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica, NY followed by a prayer service at 2PM.  Family and friends will gather at Forest Hill Crematory, Oneida Street, Utica for final prayer.
